Carrie Phillips was the daughter of Benjamin G. and Nancy F. Thomas Phillips. She married William Harless on August 19 1891 in Leutner, Shelby County, Missouri.


From the May 24, 1899, "Shelbina Democrat", Shelbina Missouri:

"Mrs. Carrie Phillips Harless died at her home in Oklahoma on Monday, May 15. The remains were brought here on Wednesday, and after funeral services conducted by Eld. C. W. Webdell at the home of her mothers south of here, were laid to rest in Oak Ridge Cemetery. She leaves a husband and three children, one only a few days old, mother, two sisters, and four brothers to mourn her death."
