My widowed great-great grandfather came from Germany to America on the sailing ship America in 1882 at the age of 64 and he settled with his son, Karl, in Milwaukee Wisconsin. There he lived for 18 more years and died at the age of 82. After his death, the family moved to Neenah Wisconsin in 1905.
