Orville Fairchild, usually spelled Orval, was the son of Joseph David and Mariah Bruce Fairchild. He was first married to Clara Graham. They had one son, Ray Blanchard, and an infant daughter who died. He later married Hattie Elza Pry October 10, 1916, in Stoddard County, Missouri. They were the parents of Genevieve J. Fairchild Middleton, Avanelle Fairchild, Joseph Buel (J.B.) Fairchild, Anna Mae Fairchild, Tommy Fairchild, Mary John Fairchild, and Pauline Gale Fairchild Tedesco. Hattie preceded him in death and he then married Addie Stevens.
His obituary lists his brothers as being Joe, Linn, and Ulmont.
An interesting note is that Orval was willed an estate by one Jacob Stochr for his "kind care of my wife Lewitia and myself in our last sickness, our declining years." Jacob Stochr and his wife are buried nearby Orval.
