Novelist/Biographer. Leatrice Gilbert Fountain died peacefully at her home in Riverside, CT on January 20, 2015. She was born on September 6, 1924 in Los Angeles and was the daughter of the silent screen stars Leatrice Joy and John Gilbert.

She was predeceased by her husband John Caldwell Fountain and is survived by her daughter Lorin Hart, sons John, Christopher, Anthony, Gideon, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Leatrice was educated at the Westlake School for Girls, the University of California at Berkeley and Trinity College, Dublin. She served in the Women's Army Corp during World War II.

She was the author of two published books, a novel, "Love to the Irish" and a biography of her father, "Dark Star."

Memorial donations are welcome to any charity but especially Meals-On-Wheels or the Wilderness Society.
