Mrs. John Sprunk Dies - Following an illness of a year, Mrs. John Sprunk, 77, passed away at 4:15 a.m. today at the home of her son, William Sprunk, six miles northwest of Columbus. Death was due to cancer of the stomach.
As Agnes Seidel, Mrs. Sprunk was born in Austria, October 19, 1853 a daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Ben Seidel. When she was 26 years of age she was married to Mr. (Ferdinand) Glater, and to the union one daughter, Anna was born. After Mr. Glater's death, which occured 3 years later Mrs. Glater and her daughter came to America and to Platte County.
In 1884 she was married to John Sprunk and they established their home near David City. Two children were born to them. William and a daughter now Mrs. Joseph Mick. Nineteen years ago they retired from active farm life and moved to the home of their son William, where Mr. Sprunk passed away Sept 30, 1927. Mrs. Sprunk continued to make her home there until her death.
Her health began to fail a year ago, and she was bedfast the last six weeks. The body will be removed this afternoon from the Gass Funeral Home to the William Sprunk home. Funeral services will be held at St. Bonaventure's church at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, preceded by a brief prayer service at the residence at 8:30 a.m.
Burial will be made in the parish cemetery. Mrs. Sprunk is survived by her son William, two daughters, Mrs. Anna Welsh of St.Paul and Mrs. Joseph Mick of Bellwood, and two brothers, Frank Seidel of Shelby, and William Seidel, of St. Paul.
