He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Cashtown. He was a 1950 graduate of Gettysburg High School. He owned and operated his fruit farm in Cashtown for many years. Bill was an avid bridge player, hunter, and fisherman and was a member of the Adams County Fish & Game, Buchanan Valley Rod & Gun Club, Mummasburg Sportsman Club, and a life member of the Cashtown Fire Company. He was probably best known throughout the area though for selling of various raffle tickets for a number of different organizations for their fundraising efforts.
