Ethel Satchell Snead, 75, wife of the late Raymond Snead and a resident of Weirwood, died Monday, Feb. 19, 2007 at her residence. Born in Accomack County, Mrs. Snead was the daughter of the late George W. and Ella Satchell. She was a laborer. A member of Holy Trinity Baptist Church, Pungoteague, she served as a deaconess, in the missionary society, and the usher board. A funeral service was held at Holy Trinity Baptist Church on Saturday, Feb. 24, at 1 p.m. The Rev. Brian Nixon officiated. Interment was in the church cemetery. Mrs. Snead is survived by devoted nieces, Vanessa Ames of Cape Charles and Shanyne Satchell of Norfolk; sister, Mary Coleman of Yonkers, N.Y.; and brothers, Otha Satchell of Yonkers, and Cornelius Satchell of Springfield, Tenn. Arrangements were made by Cooper & Humbles Funeral Co., Accomac.
