Otto Kemp Rites To Be Thursday
Funeral services for Otto Kemp, 80 of 828 North Second Street, will be held 1:30 Thursday afternoon in the First Evangelical United Brethren Church with the Rev. Duane R. Voas, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in Oakland cemetery with Bruce in charge. Friends may call at the funeral home until 12 noon Thursday when the body will be moved to the church.
Mr. KEMP is survived by one son, Lawrence Kemp, and three daughters, Mrs. Orville Hinton, Mrs. Clyde Largent, and Miss Lorraine Kemp, all of Fort Dodge. Also, surviving are five grandchildren, one great granddaughter and a brother, Frank Kemp of Goodell.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha, in 1957, two brothers, Theodore and Paul, and three sisters, Mrs. Bertha Schlichting, Miss Martha Kemp and Mrs. Alma Lauden.
Born, July 20, 1881 at Pommern, Germany, Mr. Kemp came to this country in 1888 with his parents, the late Mr. and Ms. William Kemp. The family settled at Fort Dodge where Mr. Kemp had since lived. He was married Nov. 16, 1905, to Martha Prelip at Fort Dodge.
Mr. Kemp had been in failing health the past two months but his condition had not been considered critical. He became suddenly ill Tuesday morning and died at his home. He was a member of the First Evangelical United Brethren Church.
