Evelyn Brown Brooks,88, resident of Landrum, SC, passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2013.
Born October 26, 1924 in Tryon, NC, daughter of Jesse Cleveland and Susan Andrew Brown.
Survived by three sons, Robert Allen Brooks, Jr. (Paula) of Princeton, WV, David Walter Brooks (Brenda) of Jacksonville, FL, and Jesse Brown Brooks (Sarah) of Landrum, SC; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; stepdaughter, Mary Ann Whiteside (Mac) of Hudson, NC; stepson, Henry Thorne of San Jose, CA; four step grandchildren; and five step great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by husband, Robert Brooks; husband, Carl Thorne; and stepson Jim Thorne.
Funeral services were held at Grace Baptist Church, Saturday, June 22, 2013 at 11:00 am conducted by Dr. J.B. Godfrey and Pastor Nick Vance.
The family received friends prior to the service at 10:00 am at the church.
