Alice Root Isham, 83, went to be with the Lord on Christmas Eve 2005.
She was predeceased by her parents, Ollie Emmett Root and Mary Elizabeth Kocher Root of Waynesboro, Va., and Richville, Ohio; sister, Anna R. Isham of Grand Bay, Ala.; and grandson, Brenton R. Isham of Richmond, Va.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Toney A. Isham; daughters, Alice Ann I. Wynne (Arlie) of New Kent, Va. and Elizabeth I. Dechent (Arthur) of Richmond; sons, Toney A. Isham Jr. (Catherine) of Hurley, Miss. and Wayne B. Isham (Linda) of Miramar, Fla.; sisters, Elizabeth R. Isham of Saraland, Ala., Doris R. Willis of Waynesboro, Va. and Jean R. Norman of Camden, S.C.; four granddaughters, five grandsons, two great-granddaughters, and three great-grandsons, numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 5 at 11 a.m. at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Mausoleum Chapel, 1220 Nuckols Rd., Glen Allen, Va. 23059. Memorial donations may be made to the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Library Fund.
