Solo Rd A51, died in Americana Nursing Home of Alzheimer's Disease, per death certificate 146-96 9327, whose informant was Dorothy Schmidt, 3171 Wildwood Dr, Longview. Buried Feb 8 1996.

Brown Edward Martin, 88, of Longview, died at a local nursing home Monday, Feb. 1, 1996. He was born Feb. 6, 1907 in Pikesville, TN, to William and Elizabeth Hemphill Martin.

He worked in industrial construction for 25 years around the northwest, and came to the local area from Clackamas, OR, in 1986. He was a minister in the Church of God for 25 years in Idaho, Oregon, Colorado and California, retiring in the late 1970's. He enjoyed gardening.

Surviving are his wife, Ora; two daughter, Dot Schmidt of Longview, and Verla Sousa of Portland; a son, Bill S. Martin of St. Helens, OR; a sister, Maude Purdy of Boise; and two brothers, Jay Martin of Jerome, ID, and William Lyle Martin of Portland; 13 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 3 pm Saturday ay Steele Chapel with Rev. Mel Neu officiating.
