Occup: wheel wright∼Alexander Belcher was born the 3rd of May 1823 in Boone County, Missouri. He was the son of John William and Elizabeth (Noble) Belcher. Alexander was married 1st to Mary Thomas. To them were born two children: John Wesley, born in Buchanan County, Missouri abt 1847, and Thomas Jefferson, born abt 1848 in Buchanan County, Missouri.. Alexander lost his first wife, Mary Thomas around the time of the death of their last child.
I have no proof of this: But Alexander had to be married a Second time, wife unknown and had the following three children, all dying very young, Martha E., who died at the age of 18 days on January 24, 1853, Susan A., who died at the age of one month on January 24, 1855, Sarah M., who died at the age of 2 months and 29 days, January 24, 1857, His second wife would of seemed to die around the time of the birth of Sarah M. Belcher.
Then on June 26th, 1857 in Platte Township, Buchanan County, Missouri he married Altamira Anderson. She was the daughter of George and Tarrassa (Hall) Anderson. Altamira was born June 22, 1839 in Carpentersville, Putnam County, Indiana. Alexander and Altamira had the following children, all being born in Buchanan County, Missouri:
George Washington, born May 9, 1858 in Buchanan County, Platte Township, Missouri and died March 25, 1876 in Buchanan County, Platte Township, Missouri.; Wilson Noble, born September 13, 1860 and died April 4, 1883 in Buchanan County, Missouri; Levi Alexander, born February 4, 1862 and died April 2, 1934 in Braley, Mo., he married Etta Bryon October 13, 1886; Mary Jane, born February 29, 1864, She married Nicholas Darrell; Sarah Adeline, born January 27, 1866 and died December 2. 1943 in San Cruz, California. She married October 1, 1884 in Clinton County, Missouri to Richard U. Grant Atterbury; Missouri Altamira, born February 23, 1869 and died January 23, 1951 in Yuba City, California. She married Henry Carpenter; Daniel Webster, born March 12, 1871; Nellie Bird, born December 20, 1874 and died December 4, 1920 in Platte County, Missouri. He married March 5, 1902 in Plattsburg, Clinton County, Missouri to Lena Divelbiss.
