Colleen Lisonbee Thayn
WELLINGTON - Colleen Lisonbee Thayn, age 86, passed away peacefully at her home on May 23, 2013.
She was born May 3, 1927 in Silver City, Utah to Roy and Bernice Jackson Lisonbee.
Colleen married her sweetheart, Dea Thayn on June 22, 1945 in Wellington, Utah; they were married 65 years. She worked alongside Dea as they farmed, ranched and raised Quarter horses prior to his passing on August 11, 2010.
Colleen was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was the secretary for the Wellington Mountaineers Horse Show and the Wellington Mountaineers Rodeo for many years. Colleen was a member of the Lady Luck Riders and later the Wellington Mountaineers. For years she worked at Potter’s Farm Grocery Store, Woolworths, and several other businesses in the area. Colleen, with the aid of her good friend Helene Majors, became a member of the Utah Daughters of Pioneers not too many years ago. She loved to camp with the family and loved spending time with them. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren.
The family would like to express their deep appreciation to Rickelle Limb for her loving, compassionate care for our mother, she considered mom one of her best friends. We would also like to thank Candace Bradley and the CNS Nursing Staff, especially her aide Ashley Hoffman.
Colleen is survived by her three children, Dea R (Danielle) Thayn, Jana (Brett) Abrams and Debra (David) Cloward, all of Wellington; son-in-law, Abe Davis; 16 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild. She was the last survivor of 12 siblings.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, her parents, brothers and sisters, grandson Joe Abrams and great-granddaughter Kamdyn Cloward.
