Our beloved husband, daddy, son, brother, and friend, Andrew "Drew" Ashwood, of Muskogee, left this earth to be with his Heavenly Father on Monday, August 7, 2017 at the age of 47.
Andrew was born on July 23, 1970 in Muskogee, Oklahoma to Charles "Dick" Ashwood and Betty Malan Ashwood. He was number 6 of 7 children.
He was a life long Hilldale Hornet, starting in kindergarten and was part of the 1988 graduating class, where he made many life long friends. Later in his life, he continued his education at Connors State College, graduating with his Associates degree in 2015 and then going onto Northeastern State University.
In 1995, he met his love, Jennifer Murr, and on October 14, 1995, they were married in Muskogee. In August of 1996, he fell in love for the second time with one of his most prized possessions, his oldest daughter, Haley Nicole. She was his world and he was hers from the very beginning. In March of 2005, his heart grew even bigger when his third love, Abigail Grace, entered his world. His girls were his everything and he was not ashamed to tell you that they had him wrapped around their fingers. He loved to watch them show and work their sheep. He was an active part of the Oktaha 4-H. Drew's love for OU football was known by everyone he knew.
Andrew was employed at ORS Nasco where he has worked for the past 19 years.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles "Dick" Ashwood; and his brothers, Richard and Aaron Ashwood.
Andrew is survived by his wife, Jennifer Murr Ashwood, of the home; daughters, Haley Nicole Ashwood of Stillwater and Abigail Grace Ashwood of the home; his mother, Betty Malan Ashwood; brothers, Floyd Ray "Pat" Patterson and wife Tammy, Matthew Ashwood and wife Stacey, all of Muskogee; sister, Luanna Hodges and husband David of Inola, Betty Ann Hinds and husband Jerry of Muskogee; along with other family members and many friends who will miss him dearly.
The family will gather to receive friends from 5:30-7:30pm, Friday, August 11, 2017 at Cornerstone Funeral Home.
Funeral services celebrating Andrew's life will be 10AM, Saturday, August 12, 2017 at New Hope Assembly of God Church with Rev. Jerrod Murr officiating. Interment will follow at Brushy Mountain Cemetery with Cody Dean, Matthew Ashwood, Jason Roberts, Austin Patterson, Jody Miller, and Pat Patterson serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be James Murr, Corey Todd, Donnie Yarbrough, Jeff Selby, Miles Thomas, and Matthew Ashwood II.
