Former Yakima resident Stella M. (Womack) McEntire, 81, of Tenino, Wash., died Tuesday at Puget Sound Health Care in Olympia. Mrs. McEntire was born, raised and educated in Saxton, Mo., and moved to Yakima about 1940. She was a welder at the naval base in San Diego during World War II and later was a licensed practical nurse at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital and Providence Yakima Medical Center for 25 years. Survivors include a daughter, Bonnie Jean Spalding of Tenino; two sons, Rondel Womack of Onalaska, Wash., and Jerry Womack of Chehalis, Wash.; a sister, Ethel Ackerman of Yakima; 15 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Keith & Keith Terrace Heights Chapel. Concluding service and burial will follow at Terrace Heights Memorial Park.
