He was a veteran of the army and was a retired welder. He was married to the late Donna L. Hicks Staggs.
Survivors include: two sons, Bobby Ray Staggs of Warrenton, Mo. and Berlin W. Staggs of Caseyville, Il.; three daughters, Linda Hindman of Edwardsville, Il., Patricia Branham of Park Hills, Mo. and Judy Williams of Caseyville, Il.; two sisters, Stella Marie McEntire and Ethel Ackerman both of Wa.; thirteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
Graveside services were held May 28, 1998 at 10:30 a.m. at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele, Mo. with Rev. Loyd Adams officiating.
