Chester Sparks, 45, of Lima, died at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2017 at his residence. He was born Apr. 1, 1972, in Chicago to Chester Stidham and Sandra Louise Sparks. His father is deceased and his mother survives in Chicago.

Also surviving are his wife, Tyree Durr-Sparks of Lima; children: Quandale Sparks of Chicago, Alante Long, Tyle'q Sparks, Xy'aire Sparks and Shadarri Sparks all of Lima; two sisters: Aurora Thomas and Romunda (Michael) Allen both of Chicago; and two grandchildren: Brielle Long of Lima and Amauri Hutchins of Alabama. He is also survived by a boatload of nieces and nephews.

Chester was a driver for DHL. Previously he was employed at Rudolph Foods and he was a locksmith in Tennessee. He loved playing video games and listening to music and was a good handyman. He was knowledgeable, modest, prideful, energetic, independent, loving, caring and funny.

His funeral will begin at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2017 at Siferd-Orians Funeral Home, with Pastor David Stanford officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Family and friends may call from 11:00 a.m., Wednesday until the time of services in the funeral home.
