Alva Martin, 57 years old, of 1538 Woodley avenue, died at his residence at 1:45 o'clock Sunday afternoon.
A member of the Parke Avenue Methodist Church, he is survived by the widow, Gertrude; a daughter, Mrs. Jean Artz of Terre Haute; a son, Jack Martin of St. Thomas, Virgin Islands; two brothers, William and Ora Martin, both of Danville, Ill., and a sister, Mrs. Grace Clarkson of Chicago.
The body was taken to the Thomas Funeral Home where friends may call after noon Tuesday. Services will be held there at 1 o'clock Wednesday afternoon. The Rev. Sam Boyll will officiate and burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park. Also surviving are two grandchildren.
