Earl Raymond Dwyer, 80, of Brownstown, Kiski Township, died Wednesday (Jan. 19, 2005) at Allegheny Valley Hospital, Harrison.

He was born March 24, 1924, in Nowrytown.

An Army veteran of World War II, he achieved the rank of sergeant and saw action in the Philippines.

Before retiring in 1992, he was a material handler at Federal Laboratories, Saltsburg.

Mr. Dwyer enjoyed watching television, relaxing on his porch and socializing with family and neighbors.

Survivors include a son, John (Christine) Dwyer of Perrysville in Kiski Township; two daughters, Sandy Johnson of Blairsville and Wanda (Mark) Goldstein of Boca Raton, Fla.; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Donald (Martha) Dwyer of Blairsville; and two sisters, Mona Blystone of North Apollo and Marlene Nagg of Clarksburg.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Poloff Dwyer, in 1993; his parents, Raymond Sylvester and Zelma Yeager Dwyer; three brothers, Ronald, Bernard "Bud" and Mansel Dwyer; and a sister, Jean Reigh.

His family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the KELLY L. CORRIDONI FUNERAL, Avonmore. Prayer services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home with the Rev. Peter Peretti, pastor of St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, Avonmore, officiating. Burial will follow in West View Cemetery, Avonmore.
