Ada Joseph Sangid, age 91, of Kanawha City passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, on Monday September 4, 2017 at the Hubbard Hospice House.

Ada was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a graduate of Marshall College, Huntington with a degree in education. Ada was a secondary school teacher in Kanawha County for over 30 years, and retired from Marmet Junior High School in 1986, where she had taught Junior High Science in the same classroom for 30 years. Ada was an avid traveler, having traveled the Mid-East and Europe extensively. Ada also loved to read, often reading a novel a day, up until the last year of her life. In addition, Ada loved various arts and crafts, including cake decorating, ceramics, knitting, crocheting, and candy making to name a few. Ada always had her iPad close and could regularly be found browsing the internet and Facebook late at night.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Mickey; daughter, Karen Boyles; sisters, Mena Joseph and Nadia Quaranta; and brothers, Romes Joseph and Munere Joseph.

Ada is survived by her sons, David Sangid of Hawthorn Woods, IL and Donnie Sangid, along with his wife Terrie, of Kanawha City; son-in-law Ed Boyles of Kanawha City; granddaughters, Kara Boyles of Kanawha City, Shari Tomlin of Libertyville, IL, Jennifer Sangid of New York City, and Nicole Sangid of Raleigh, NC; grandsons, Michael Sangid of West Lafayette, IN, Mark Sangid of West Bloomfield, MI, and Joey Boyles of Weehawken, NJ; great grandchildren, Ryan Duncan, Bradley Duncan, Jackson Tomlin, Mila Sangid and Savannah Tomlin; and nephew Edward Ameen of Kenner, LA.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Friday September 8, at Harding Funerals & Cremations. A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 am Saturday September 9, 2017 at Harding Funerals & Cremations. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, South Charleston.

The Family wishes to thank the staffs at Eastbrook Rehabilitation Center and Hubbard Hospice House for their excellent care during her brief stay.
