Elizabeth “Liz” Davis Howard, 56, passed away Thursday, September 7, 2017 at Ogeechee Area Hospice Inpatient Center after a short illness.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Harold P. Davis and Lois Bragg Davis of Bulloch County; a brother, George Clayton Davis of Ellabell; sisters, Mary JoAnn Futch of Brooklet, Cynthia Eloise Crosby of Garden City and Terri White of Ellabell.
She is survived by: her husband: Stephen Baxter Howard of Bloomigdale; her children: Cameron Boyles, Abigail Boyles of Bloomingdale; her daughter: Summer Keel of Bulloch County and grandchildren: Aubry, Carter, Lois and Channing; her son: Rev. Joshua Allen Keel and daughter-in-law, Erin Griffin Keel and grandchildren Jackson Griffin, Molly Elizabeth, and Caroline Rebekah of Statesboro; her daughter, Denise Lyles and husband Tony Lyles and grandchildren: Grace and Brannen Brantley; her sisters: Donna Kersey of Statesboro, Janet K. Bowen of Bloomingdale, Christine Helen Black and husband Kevin of Brooklet, Dee Shannon Akins and Charlie Moseley of Tybee Island; her brother Harold “Ric” W. Davis and Angela of Ellabell, several nieces and nephews also survive.
Liz was a longtime member of Ebenezer Freewill Baptist Church in Glennville, Georgia and the Mary Wilkerson Ladies Circle, where she enjoyed mission projects and helping those in need. She was also a longtime member of the National Association of Women Active in Construction. She was a 1979 graduate of Southeast Bulloch High School where she diligently put together the class reunions every five years. She was employed by Weimer Construction Inc. for 26 years where she served as chief financial officer and dearly loved her job. She was also a collector of fine vintage and antique home furnishings. Liz had a heart of gold and spent the majority of her life giving to others. She was loved by many.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, Friday, September 15, 2017 at Ebenezer Free Will Baptist Chrurch. Funeral Services will follow at 11:00 am, at the Church with Dr. Rick Cason officiating. Burial will follow at 2:30 pm, at Bulloch Memorial Gardens in Statesboro, GA with Rev. Patrick McElveen officiating.
Pallbearers; Adam Howard, Carl Lewis, Brian Weimer, Jerrod Howard, Mike Folsom, Lenwood Eason, Pete Moore Charles (Buzzy) Weimer.
Honorary Pallbearers: Mary Wilkinson Woman’s Active For Christ Ladies Circle.
