Crowell, Michael J., husband of the late Catherine, nee Burns, father of Mrs. William Maher, Stephen H., Charles J., and Joseph M. Crowell. He was born in Co. Galway, Ireland 78 years ago and emigrated to America when 17 yrs. of age. He stayed in New York for five years and came to Chicago 50 years ago and made his home on the street in Bridgeport which is now named for him. He took an active part in the politics of the old 5th ward and was a member of the Irish American Republican club which flourished in this city 25 years ago. Funeral occurred from his daughter's resid., to St. Bridget's Church thence to Calvary where he was laid in the family lot beside his wife who preceded him to her grave two years ago.
