Mrs. Allison, Aged 66, Dead
Wife of Alex B. Allison Died Here Today.
Mrs. Alice Allison, 66, wife of Alex B. Allison, died at her home in First street, Chester at 7 o'clock this morning following an illness since Sunday. She had been in failing health for three years but her condition only became serious a few days ago. Death was attributed to a complication of diseases. She was born in Hanley, England, a daughter of the late John and Lydia Brookes. In her childhood, her family came to the United States and settled in East Liverpool. She was united in marriage to Mr. Allison on May 2, 1896. She has been a resident of Chester for more than 20 years. Mrs. Allison leaves her husband, one daughter, Ethel Allison, at home, a stepson, John E. Allison of Shepherds Valley, and a step - daughter, Mrs. J. C. Cunningham, of Fairview street, Chester. Two brothers and two sisters as follows are living: John Brookes of East Liverpool; Chas. Brookes, Cannon's Mills; Mrs. George Dunn, Carrollton, and Mrs. Bert Mick, of Florida. She was a member of the First Methodist Episcopal church of Chester. Funeral services, which will be private, will be conducted at the late home Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock, in charge of Rev. R. R. Griffiths, pastor of the First Methodist Episcopal church of Chester. Burial will be made in Locust Hill Cemetery. Friends may view the body at the late home Friday evening between the hours of 7 and 10 o'clock.
