Alice Bishop Church, 62, of Siloam Springs, Arkansas passed away September 14, 2017 at the Earlene Howard Hospice Home in Springdale, Arkansas. A celebration of life will be held Monday, September 25, 2017 at 3:00pm at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. Visitation will be held at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Chapel on Monday, September 25, 2017 from 1:00pm to 2:30pm.

Alice was born June 9, 1955 in Blytheville, Arkansas to Wanda Berry Smith and Walter Roland Bishop. Her stepfather Van Buren Haggard also played an important role in her life. The family moved to Abilene, Texas when Alice was 13 years old, and she attended Abilene schools where she graduated from Abilene Christian High School in 1973 and Abilene Christian University in 1976. She married her loving husband David Church on June 9, 2001 in Garfield, Arkansas.

Alice’s favorite job was working as the manager of Northwest Arkansas Mall in Fayetteville, Arkansas for 11 years. She was a City of Fayetteville Planning Commissioner and board member for Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce, Crime Stoppers of Northwest Arkansas, and Arts Center of the Ozarks. The Northwest Arkansas Business Journal named Alice Business Executive of the Year in 2000.

She is survived by her husband, David Church and two children, Wyatt Church and Clara Church; mother, Wanda Smith of Stephenville, Texas; a brother, Berry Bishop and wife, Laurie of Hot Springs, Arkansas; a sister, Vanessa Halford and husband, David of Stephenville, Texas. Other survivors include in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
