Neal was the Son of Jerome Asay and Nancy Jane Meeks. He never married. He was the 6th of 11 Children. He died in a Provo nursing home. He was a member of the LDS Church.
Funeral Services were held on Saturday Febuary 24, 1979 at 11:00 A.M. at the Fausett Mortuary Chapel in Castle Dale. A Viewing was held one hour prior to services.
Graveside Services followed in the Castle Dale City Cemetery where he was buried in the Asay Family Plot.
