He was born in Birchnal, Iowa, on Sept. 29, 1889, son of James and Mary Jane Allen, and was married in Menominee, Mich., on June 16, 1915, to Alma Bartelt, who preceded him in death on Feb. 28 of this year.
A former painter for Hugo Riese & Sons, he was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
Surviving besides the daughter are one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
