James Spencer Allen, 77, died this morning at 5:30 o'clock at his son's home, Elmer H. Allen, 45 Lake street. Death was due to general debility.

July 8. 1854, Mr. Allen was born in Wisconsin, probably at Beaver Dam. His children are not positive of the birthplace because his family took him to Iowa when he was only a child, and older members of the relationship died many yews ago.

Thirty-nine years ago Mr. Allen returned to Winnebago county to live in the town of Oshkosh. He moved to the city and lived here the last 26 years. He was an employe of the Paine Lumber company until eight years ago. His wile died four years ago.

His survivors are two sons, Elmer H. and Oscar Allen, Oshkosh: three grandchildren and three brothers, John Allen, of Minneapolis, and Fred and Orea Allen, both of Mason City la., where James Allen lived when he was u resident of that state.

The funeral will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Konrad funeral home. 103 Waugoo street, to Brooks cemetery, north of the city. Commitment rites will be for members of the family only. Rev. Alfred Hoad of the Algomu Methodist church will be in charge. The body will be at the funeral home from Monday afternoon until the services.
