George Calvert, second son of Capt. George (1744-1821) and Lydia Beck Ralls Calvert (1749-c1830), was born on December 13, 1771, in Culpeper County, Va. He lived in Rappahannock County, Va. He married, and their son was probably Jesse Calvert (1789-1860). He married (2) in 1809, Anne Jennings (1788-1856), in Culpeper County. Their seven children were Sarah Ann (1810-90), Benjamin (1811-69), Samuel Ralls, George Edward (1820-1907), Elizabeth (c1827-), and John Jett Calvert.

Sarah Ann Calvert (c1810-90) married in 1831, Shelton Thompson (1800-64), in Culpeper County. They moved in 1862 to Taylorville, Ill. Their thirteen children were Ann Elizabeth (c1831-); Elvira Josie (1834-89) who married (1) in 1851, Benjamin Franklin Day (c1830-c63) and had five children, and (2) John R. Sharp (1836-95) and had three children; Sarah Susan (c1835-); George Edward (1837-1904) who married in 1859, Mary Ann Hollar (1839-1908) and had three daughters; Mary Ellen (c1839-) who married a Satterly; Sarah Virginia (c1841-c71); Ralls Calvert (1846-1929) who married Anna E. Harris (1853-81) and had two children; Israel Pittman (1847-1911) who married and had a son; James Benjamin (1849-1933) who married (1) Jannana Pierce (-1878), and (2) Lavina Gladden Churchman (1853-1949) and had four children; Robert Samuel (1853-1903); Daniel Shelton (1855-1914) who married Milla Gall (1853-1912); Amanda Amelia (1856-1953) who married Benjamin J. Bozarth (1848-1915) and had three children; and Catherine Rebecca Thompson (1859-1943) who married in 1885, Morgan Baldwin Milligan (1844-1914).

George Calvert and his wife are probably buried in Rappahannock County, Va.
