Civil War Union Soldier. He was mustered in as a recruit Private in Company I, 119th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry on September 7, 1864. He deserted, but was returned to the ranks, and served through the end of the war. He was honorably mustered out with his Company on June 19, 1865.
