Janice Marie Akers, 49, passed away unexpectedly in her home on Wednesday May 31st, 2017. She was born in Terre Haute on January 9th, 1968 to the late Paul and Anna Akers.

Janice graduated from Northview High School in 1986, and studied nursing at Ivy Tech Community College. She married James "Rusty" Joseph Wylie on April 25th, 1992.

Survivors include her husband of 25 years James "Rusty" Wylie; sons, Nathan Akers and his girlfriend Jeremy Harpole of New Hampshire, Brock Wylie of Brazil, and Blake Wylie and his wife Renee Wylie of Brazil; siblings, Andy Akers and wife Shannon, Matthew Akers, Randy Akers and wife Mellissa, and Kelly Riddell and husband Jay Riddell; extended family and friends.

Janice enjoyed gardening, cooking, writing poems, and spending time with her family. She could make anyone smile and she loved to laugh. Janice had a hugh heart and always put other needs aboved her own. She could talk to anyone and never met a strange. Her door was always open and so was her kitchen.

There will be a Celebration of Life held Sunday June 11th from 1-6 pm at the Knightsville Community Center. Casual dress is requested by family. We hope you can join us as we remember and celebrate our loved one.
