Fred W. Rhodes
Washougal - There will be a private service at Washougal Memorial Cemetery for Fred W. Rhodes, who died Sunday, June 16, 2002, at Southwest Washington Medical Center. He was 73.
Mr. Rhodes was born April 15, 1929, in Cashmere, Wash. He moved to Camas before joining the Army and serving in the Korean War.
He worked for George Schmid and Sons in Washougal for 25 years before retiring in 1992.
Mr. Rhodes was a member of American Legion Post 0122 and the Northwest Laborers Union, Local 335, for 30 years.
He loved to travel and camp and was a member of the Good Sam Club. he liked working in his shop and loved his dogs.
Survivors include his wife, Norma, at home; two sons, Harold of Ketchikan, Alaska, and Monte of Carson; two stepsons, Ken Huddleston of Camas and Mark Huddleston of Washougal; two stepdaughters, Marilyn Rauch and Melody Gooch, both of Camas; one sister, Carmen Lider of Port Orchard, Wash.; 19 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Straub's Funeral Home in Camas is in charge of the arrangements.
