Harold Richard "Dick" Norris, 84 of Wellington, Kansas, passed away Friday, September 29, 2017 at his home in Wellington.

Harold Richard "Dick" Norris was born February 11, 1933, the son of William "Clarence" and Linda Elizabeth "Selma" (Achelpohl) Norris in Portland, KS.

He attended Wellington High School. Dick served his country in the US Navy during the Korean War.

On October 25, 1952 Dick was united in marriage to Peggy "Jolene" Hundley in Wellington at the First Baptist Church.

Dick worked for the Wellington Fire Department from 1955-1983 and retired as an Assistant Fire Chief. He also worked for Gibson Concrete and was a carpenter for Branson Construction while working at the fire department. He loved spending time with his family, fishing, hunting and camping. He taught himself to play the piano, harmonica, guitar and ukulele, he entertained himself and all who heard him play.

Dick is survived by his children: Tyra Dwyer and husband Tim, Doug Norris and wife DeAun, John Norris and wife Jane, and Linda Mullen and husband Allan, all of Wellington; a sister, Betty Mae McMillan and a brother, William George "Bill" Norris of Wellington; 13 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Jolene; his parents; and sisters, Donna Kathryn Wilson and Evelyn Helen Norris.

Funeral Services were held at 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at the Shelley Family Funeral Home in Wellington. A memorial has been established with the Wellington Avenue of Flags.
