Betty Mae (Norris) McMillan went to be with our Lord on Monday, July 10, 2023, at the age of 95. She was born August 9, 1927 in Wichita, Kansas at St. Francis hospital to William Clarence and Linda Elizabeth Selma (Achelpohl) Norris.

Betty attended Pleasant Ridge and Mulberry country schools until the 8th grade when the family moved to Wellington, Kansas, where she attended Wellington Junior High School and Wellington Senior High. She worked at Watkins Rexall Drug for Ray and Bonnie Watkins and later Albin's Furniture Store in the Record Bar.

On June 9, 1946 Betty married Charles J. McMillan. They had three daughters: Kathryn Ann, Debra Jo, and Lisa Christine.

In 1956 they moved to Augusta, Kansas with Jarvis Auto Supply and in 1958 to Winfield, Kansas and in 1967 back to Wellington. Baptized in 1941 at the Church of Christ- has been a Methodist all of her life- as were her mother and Grandparents.

Betty loved to play bridge, play cards with her grandchildren, watch movies, listen to music, dance, and take short shopping trips with her daughters and granddaughters. She worked for Midwest, Inc., GEC, and Plessey for 25 years, retiring in 1992. She was a co-owner of Katherines Tea Room and loved her friends and family.

Survivors include her daughters: Debbie Frazee and Bill Stroud, and Lisa Thompson and Brent Washburn, both of Wellington, Kansas; son-in-law, Keith Tolles of Arkansas City, Kansas; grandsons: Michael (Melissa) Speer of Wichita, Kansas, and Shawn Frazee of Wellington, Kansas; granddaughters: Amy (Jason) Walker of Wellington, Kansas, Megan (Garet) Bergstrom of Wichita, Kansas, and Allie (Jeff) McGuire of Wellington, Kansas; great grandchildren: Tysana Speer, Britney Mace and Bradley, Tanner Frazee, Angel Buresh and Braiden, Siarah Cole and Luke, Brittany Staley and William, Keven Walker, Wyatt Bergstrom, Weston Bergstrom; 13 great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Charles McMillan; daughter, Kathy Tolles; her parents, Clarence and Selma Norris; brothers: William "Bill" and Harold "Dick" Norris; sister: Donna Wilson; infant sister, Evelyn Helen Norris; and grandson, Chad Speer.

A visitation with the family will be held at Cornejo Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, July 16, 2023. Funeral services for Betty will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 17, 2023 at the Cornejo Funeral Home Chapel, 1030 Mission Road, Wellington, KS, 67152. Internment will follow at Prairie Lawn Cemetery in Wellington, Kansas.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in her loving memory with St. Jude Research Hospital.
