COURIER JOURNAL OBITUARY – 02/07/2003
Thomas W. "Jake" Staples, of Louisville, passed away at his residence on Wednesday, February 6, 2003. He was a native of Meade Co., KY, a retired press operator for General Electric and a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church and Local Union #761. Survivors include his wife, Anna Hardesty Staples; sons, Tommy, Gene and Pat Staples; daughters, Charlotte Kaleher and Paula Huddleston; brothers, Lamar & Garland Staples; 14 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 1925 Lewiston Drive. Burial will be in Mt. Marino (Merino) Cemetery in Irvington, KY. Visitation will be from 1-9 p.m. Friday at J.B. Ratterman & Sons-Southwest, 4832 Cane Run Road. Memorial gifts may go to his church's building fund.
