Singer. He was the "silky-voiced" lead singer for the late 1950s and early 1960s doo-wop group The Skyliners, whose biggest hit "Since I Don't Have You" hit number one on the Cashbox R&B chart and number three on the Billboard R&B chart in 1959. In late 1958 the Skyliners released their first song "Since I Don't Have You", and after earning the group an invitation to the television program American Bandstand, it became the group's biggest hit. The song went to number twelve on the Billboard Pop Chart and one and third on the Cashbox R&B and Billboard R&B chart respectively. The group would later go on to record other songs, which included two other hits "This I Swear" (1959) and "Pennies From Heaven" (1960) before breaking up in 1963. He went on to record several songs as a single soul singer in the middle to late 1960s. The original group would reunite for a comeback concert in 1970 at Madison Square Garden in New York. He was a part of the re-forming of the Skyliners in 1974 and continued performing as the lead singer of the group until his passing. He, along with the original members of the group, were inducted into the Vocal Music Hall of Fame in 2002.
