Mrs. James Baxter, widow, of 332 Second avenue, died at her residence following a lengthy illness. She was 85 years of age. The former Mary Gallagher was born at Gananoque, Ontario.
She is survived by a son, J. Alex Baxter, of Saskatoon; three daughters, Mrs. Orion Hill (Clara), of Winnipeg, and Elizabeth and Edythe, at home; one sister, Mrs. O. A. Bogart, of Gananoque; and two grandchildren.
