Gathering: After the graveside service, the family will welcome friends and family to a gathering at the Tabernacle Baptist Church of Rendon hosted by the members of the Church.
Nettie was the seventh child of eight born to James Wesley Snow and Laura McSpirit Snow. Nettie was raised in and around Ada, Oklahoma. She met C. W. Britt in 1948. After a short courtship they married on Nov. 26, 1948. They were married for 32 years until his death in 1981. During their time together, they had three children: Margaret Britt-Mead, Janet Joan Britt and Curtis Wayne Britt. Nettie and C. W. came home from work. Cookies and milk were ready for her three kids when they came in from school. In her thirties, Nettie got her GED so she could make sure her kids knew the importance of an education.
After losing C. W., Nettie went to college and earned an Associate degree in Business. Nettie worked for Carswell FCU and Educational FCU until retiring in 1998. After retiring, her greatest loves were her faithful companion of twenty-five years, Bill Carothers, spending time with her two daughters, her grandchildren and great grandkids, line dancing and her dog Roxie.
