Alberta was born in Camden daughter of the late Alfred and Alma Giffins. She is the beloved wife of 54 years of David; dear mother of Emilie Hus of Audubon and Cynthia Paranto of Sicklerville; loving grandmother of 6 grandchildren: Mark David Paranto (USAF) Steven Alfred Giffins Paranto (USMC) Michael Anthony Paranto Danielle Nicole Paranto Helena Renee' Hus Matthew Christopher Hus and 1 great grandson Anthony Joseph Egnatuk.
Mrs. Evans graduated from Audubon High School in 1948. She continued her education and earned her degree from Glassboro State College in 1951. Alberta was a school teacher in Mt. Ephraim and Audubon where she taught at the Haviland Ave. School. She retired from substitute teaching in 2005 after 50 years of educating.
Alberta was an active parishioner and W.E.L.C.A. (Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church) President of St. Mark's Lutheran Church. She also played the piano at St. Mark's as well as other area churches. She enjoyed life to the fullest with so many kind and dear friends. Alberta could be found floating in Lake Garrison out to lunch with friends or on the phone laughing and keeping in touch with those near and far.
Friends may call Sunday evening 6-9PM at the HENRY FUNERAL HOME 152 W. Atlantic Ave. Audubon. Funeral Services will be held on Monday 11AM at St. Mark's Lutheran Church 1 East Haddon Ave. Oaklyn NJ 08107. Friends may call at the church after 10AM Monday morning. Interment Harleigh Cemetery. The family requests in lieu of flowers contributions in her memory may be made to the church at the above address.
