Goldie Pansy Sexton, age 95, of 1600 Bland Street, went home to be with the Lord, Monday, October 23, 2017.
Born on March, 29, 1922, Goldie was the daughter of the late Sylvester Preston Scott and Annie Laura Mills. She was a homemaker most of her life while working for Zenith Electronics in Chicago, IL. She was a member of Maybeury Church of God.
In addition to her parents, Goldie was preceded in death by her husband, Jefferson Wayne Sexton, along with seven brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews, most notably Shirley Sadler, who was her primary caregiver after her husband passed away, as well as Aletha Meadows, James Herman Sexton, and Judy Johnson who assisted in taking care of her.
Graveside service will be conducted Friday, October 27, 2017 at the Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum at 1:00 p.m. in Bluewell with the Rev. Billy Sadler officiating. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the Woodlawn Mausoleum by 1:00 p.m.
