Mrs. Janie Dorris, age 73, passed away Thursday October 25, 2017 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS. The family will receive friends Friday October 27, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Springhill Church of God of Prophecy in Oakland, MS and a second visitation on Saturday October 28, 2017 from 12 o'clock noon until service time beginning 1:00 p.m. at Springhill Church of God of Prophecy. Interment will follow in Rocky Branch Cemetery.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Dale Dorris of Teasdale, MS; one daughter Jenny Lou Chambers (Gary) of Tillatoba, MS; one son Claude Dorris (Tricia) of Grenada, MS; one sister Helen Crocker of Enid, MS; four grandchildren Adam Chambers (Jacque) of Tillatoba, MS; Arica Chambers (John Box) of Pope, MS; Kailey & Anna Dorris of Grenada, MS. She was preceded in death by her father Sam Morgan, her mother Minerva "Monkey" Morgan, stepdad Arson Sanders, one grandson Gregory Chambers, one sister, and eight brothers.
