Mrs. Willene Sheffield, age 73, of Canton passed away on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at her residence.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 28, 2017 from the Sosebee Memorial Chapel with Rev. Calvin Grogan and Rev. Larry Waddell officiating. Interment will follow in Harmony Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Willene was dearly loved by her family, friends and all that knew her. She was retired from Regions Bank and a member of Buffington Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, JW and Kate Abernathy; sister, Nelle Belle Stancil; and brothers, Richard, Charlie, Grady, Lawrence, James Harrell, and Roy Madison Abernathy.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Don Sheffield; her girls, Stephanie (Derek) Brewer, and Christina (David) Dowdy; grandboys, Bennett and Riley Brewer; sisters, Minnie Denton, Flora Setser, Betty West, Helen Ragsdale and Doris Ellis; brothers, Billy Abernathy, Sammy Abernathy and Junior Abernathy; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Buffington Baptist Church Building Fund, 467 Henson Road, Canton, GA 30115.
