Early Life: JoAn was born August 26, 1932, to Woodruff Lysander and Sarah Bradshaw Strickland Berry, their eighth child. Her father died when she was 18 month old. She graduated from Lehi High School in 1950.
Life’s Work | Service | Interests: JoAn married her sweetheart, Elman Winwood Anderson, on September 22, 1950. They were sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on January 24, 1964. They had four children. He died May 21, 1993. JoAn lived in Cedar Fort, Utah, all of her life except for a short time after her marriage when they lived in Lehi. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served faithfully in many callings. She was a Relief Society president and a visiting teacher. Her favorite calling was teaching Primary children which she did for 20 years. She loved studying the Book of Mormon and learning of its truth. JoAn enjoyed horseback riding, cooking, quilting, sewing, knitting, painting ceramics and porcelain dolls. Her greatest love was her family; she was the happiest when her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were near. She was adored by her nieces and nephews. She had a great sense of humor and always had funny stories to tell about her life. There was so much fun and laughter in her home with fond memories of family get-togethers. JoAn Berry Anderson passed away at her home in Cedar Fort, Utah, on October 24, 2017, surrounded by her loving family.
Survived By: Four children: Berry (Cathy) Anderson, of Princeton, OR; Vickie (Harry) Draper, of Cedar Fort; Justin (Mindy) Anderson, of Cedar Fort; and her sweet Sarah, of Cedar Fort; a brother, Rial Berry, of Lehi; 13 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.
Preceded In Death By: Her husband, parents, four brothers: Dale, Jack, Ivan and Wallace Berry; two sisters: Beth Blackhurst and June Fenton; and a grandson, Daniel Draper.
