Barbara Tuttle married William R. Nolan on Sept. 14, 1863 in Sangamon Co., Illinois. William was one of the founding fathers of the Hurrican Baptist Church near Crainville, Ill in July 1837.

1870 Census taken in Morgan County, Ill lists her family as:

William Nolan 58 Farmer born 1812 in Virginia
Barbara Nolan 52 wife born 1818 in Missouri
James Nolan 18 son born 1852 in Illinois
Thomas Nolan 16 son born 1854 in Illinois

In 1880, Mrs. Nolan was one of several housekeepers living in Camp Point, Ill at a hotel owned by Samuel and Mary Frances. She was white, listed as 60 years old (62?) and was born in Missouri. She was a widow also.
