Barbra (as listed on grave marker, seen as Barbara numerous other places) Augusta Miller was the youngest of thirteen known children of the Rev. Joseph H. Miller (1806-1887) and his first wife, Sarah Sowers (1808-1873), who married 23 Mar 1827 at Davidson County, North Carolina. After Sarah died Joseph remarried twice more, but had no children by his last two wives.

I used to have a birth date of 12 Dec 1846 on this memorial, but am now sure it was a mis-reading of a difficult grave marker. At the time of the 1850 census (taken in August 1850) Barbara (listed as Augusta) was listed as five months old.

Barbra married Samuel Jefferson Lambeth (1846-1940) on 18 Dec 1868 at Davidson County, North Carolina. Samuel was a Veteran of the Civil War, serving with the Confederacy. Barbra and Samuel were the parents of twelve known children, namely:

12. Burley Curtis Lambeth (1893–1966)

In 1880 Samuel (a farmer), Barbra, John, Joseph, Lee J. (age 5, was this Arthur? or is it Julias Lee Lambert (1877-1910) and Arthur wasn't really a son of Samuel and Barbra?, however Arthur's death certificate lists his parents as Samuel and Barbara), Minnie, un-named son (age 1, Austin) and Samuel's widowed mother, Rachel Myers Lambeth (1816-1882) were living at Midway Township, Davidson County, North Carolina.

In 1900 Joseph (a farmer), Barbra, Arthur, Hattie, Thomas, Franklin, Albert and Burley were living at Midway Township, Davidson County, North Carolina. Barbra said she was the mother of twelve, eight living.
