Morris H. Banner, 80, of 1215 S. Koch St., Bloomington, died at 3:12 a.m. yesterday (Sept. 3, 1990) at Brokaw Hospital, Normal. He had leukemia.

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church, Normal, the Rev. David R. Goodell officiating.

Visitation will be an hour before the service at the church. Mr. Banner donated his body to medical science. Metzler-Froelich Memorial Home, Bloomington, was in charge of arrangements.

He was born Oct. 25, 1909, in rural LeRoy, a son of Charles A. and Sarah E. Graves Banner. He married Mary Margaret Means Jan. 10, 1931, at Peoria. She died Dec. 29, 1975.

Survivors include two sons, David Randall Banner, 85 Owensville Road, West River, Md., and Paul Richard Banner, 129 Eastview Drive, Normal; a brother, Clifford Banner, Fisher; four sisters, Lois Moore, East Tawas, Mich.; Dorothy Lynch, DeKalb; Ruth Fisher, Topeka, Kan.; and Marolyn Genevieve Banner, Champaign; and two grandchildren.

Two grandsons, three brothers and a sister preceded him in death.

Mr. Banner graduated from the University of Illinois in 1939. He taught agriculture in Humboldt, Buffalo and Polo, before becoming Scott County agricultural agent in Winchester.

He moved to Normal in 1956 to join Biddell Advertising. From 1962 through 1965, he was publicity director at Illinois Wesleyan University.

He actively contributed to youth programs, including target rifle training and Boy Scouts. He was politically active as a frequent writer of letters to the editor of newspapers and periodicals nationally. He was given an honorary associate editor's certificate from The Pantagraph for the year of 1967.

The American Red Cross acknowledged his donation of more than 11 gallons of blood during his lifetime.

Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army.
