DAVID RANDALL PARKER
July 12, 1943 - November 16, 2017
PHILA, MS

Services for Mr. David Randall Parker will be held at 2 PM Sunday, November 19, 2017 at John E. Stephens Chapel. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Visitation begins at 10 AM Sunday, November 19, 2017 at John E. Stephens Chapel.

Much loved husband, father, papaw, brother, and friend, David dedicated his life to his wife of 53 years, Rebecca, two children, Andy (Larry) and Leslie (Jamie); and three doting grandchildren, Mary Kate, Hugh, and Jon David Collins. A devoted and loving pup, Dixie, will certainly miss him and their morning treats together.

David was the ninth of eleven children,

born to K.C. and Ruby Parker on July 12, 1943.

He graduated from Neshoba Central, Class of 1961.

Sharing his love for hunting and fishing, David passed on his respect and love of nature to his family and friends. Often, David trained and hunted with his beagles and deer dogs and understood the truest meaning of "man's best friend."

His work ethic, coupled with a sense of humor and a gleam of mischievousness, will keep us ever mindful that he believed in both work and play. Able to turn a phrase, many "David Parker-isms" will be long remembered like, "I'm so happy that if I was a dog with two tails, I'd be wagging both of them!"

David served 29 years of duty with the Mississippi Army National Guard and retired from US Electrical Motors. David was a member of Spring Creek Baptist Church, but most often sought peace in the surroundings of the woods and warmth of home.

In addition to his closest circle of family, David leaves his brother Jimmy Parker of Philadelphia, a host of nieces and nephews, and friendships forged from a life well-lived.

He is preceded in death by

a daughter, Sherry Lynn,

his parents, and

siblings Horace, Paul, T.F, Mildred Howington, Mary Lynn Burt, Bob, Helen Ainsworth, Bill, and Faye.
