Ray was a lifelong Bronson resident. He married Sophie P. Killian on July 20, 1940, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bronson.
He retired from Harters of Sturgis in 1985 after 16 years of service. Prior to that he had worked for 29 years at the former LA Darling Company in Bronson.
Ray enjoyed hunting and fishing with his grandchildren. He was always willing to help the kids with any projects and they loved to sit and listen to his many stories.
Surviving are his loving wife of 65 years, Sophie; two daughters and sons-in-law, Dorothy and Harold Card of Camden and Marilyn and Milton Meyer of Colon; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Janet Kruszka and two brothers.
According to his wishes, cremation will take place. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Kolcz Funeral Home in Bronson with Rev. Chet Allen of the New Life Family Church of Colon officiating.
