Lucinda Combs Duff Ison was the daughter of Gen. Elijah Combs and Sallie Roark of Hazard, Ky. Lucinda was married first to Shadrack Duff, son of Daniel Duff and Nancy Allison Duff around 1828 in Perry Co. Shadrack died from a explosion in a storage house at the courthouse Hazard shorly after their marriage. He is buried in the Combs-Eversole Graveyard. It is not known if they had any children. Lucinda had a second marriage to George Ison, son of George Gideon Ison and Anna Ingram of Letcher. They live near Skyline in Letcher Co. Their known children are:
