John Quigley Dies After Fall from Ladder at His Home
John F. Quigley, 73, of 33 Clyde Street, died at 6:30 Saturday night at Littauer Hospital where he was taken Monday.
Mr. Quigley had finished painting the roof of a porch at his home Monday when a ladder he was on broke and threw him to the ground. He suffered back injuries.
He was born in Johnstown but for the last 66 years had been a resident of Gloversville where he was a member of St. Mary's Church. Until Sept. 16 he had been employed at the W. N. Zimmer & Son factory.
He is survived by his wife, Mary E., two sons, Donald and Richard, and a brother, George, of Gloversville, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Eugene Hollenbeck Funeral Home to be followed by a requiem high mass at St. Mary's Church at 9:30.
Burial will be at Prospect Hill Cemetery.
Friends and relatives are requested to omit flowers.

Funeral services were held for John F. Quigley at the Eugene Hollenbeck Funeral Home yesterday morning, followed by a requiem mass at St. Mary's Church at 9:30. The Rev. James Jewell celebrated the requiem mass. Flowers and mass cards were from relatives and friends and from the boys of the Police Branch, Navel Supply Depot, employes of Littauer Hospital, the Disabled American Veterans, employes of the W. N. Zimmer and Sons firm, and the employes of the Sears, Roebuck Company. Bearers were Edmund Been, Edward Hayle, John Locatelli and Charles Fountain. Burial was at Prospect Hill Cemetery.
