Edward Tracy, 52, Ends His Own Life
Edward Tracy, 52, of 108 Terry rd., Westvale, died early yesterday afternoon from self-inflicted razor cuts on the throat and wrists. The body was discovered early yesterday afternoon in the bathroom of his home, by his son, Robert E. Tracy, 18.
Sheriff’s Deputies Frank Rice and David Lacey investigated and called the Onondaga General ambulance. Doctors pronounced Mr. Tracy dead at the scene. A verdict of suicide was issued by Dr. Harry E. Gilmore, coroner. The deputies said Mrs. Tracy told them her husband had been under a doctor’s care for some time due to a mental disorder.
Mr. Tracy was a native of Syracuse, was employed as a packer by Pass & Seymour. He leaves, besides his wife and son, a daughter, Mrs. Paul O’Grady; two brothers, Jeremiah and Matthew Tracy, and one grandchild.
Services will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at the John C. Tindall Funeral Home, and at 9:30 a.m. in St. Charles Church. Burial will be in St. Agnes Cemetery. Calling hours are from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow.
